Had a skating crash yesterday and landed hard on the back of my head. The RSRmicro straps broke free and cushioned my head so I got a goose egg on my head but no concussion! I am ordering a new one so I can get back to practice.
Mine are brown frames with brown-green lenses. They remind me of the Spinair with a hint of aviator. Lightweight. Many compliments!
I like the wide field of vision and they are very high quality. Crystal clear lenses. They are bit wider fit vs the non-prescription Cutline pair that I own given less lens curvature of the prescription version.
I fell wearing my glasses and destroyed one of the lenses. I contacted the company and I was able to replace the lense without having to replace the glasses entirely. The new lenses came quickly and were easy to pop right in. I am thrilled to be able to fix them as they are my favorite sunglasses and I cannot live without them. I have light color eyes and these are my go to glasses on overcast or cloudy days.
I bought my Rydon RX-8 base single vision Trivex prescription lenses because my husband insisted. He’s crazy about road biking and everything related to it. I had always complained about not having proper sunglasses for cycling, just regular ones, since I wear prescription glasses, and it’s not easy to find cool cycling sunglasses with transition lenses. He suggested these Rudy Project sunglasses, saying they would be perfect for me. I had been considering another brand, but he was confident about this one. He helped me choose the right model to match exactly what I was looking for in cycling sunglasses.
When I received them, like anyone who wears prescription lenses knows, it takes time to adjust. The first time I tried them, I felt that strange sensation of wearing something new and different in style, but I thought it wasn’t a big deal. The next morning at 6:30 during my usual ride, I realized I couldn’t see clearly. The lights appeared doubled, and my eyes felt pressure. I thought it would pass, but after about 15 minutes, my vision still wasn’t clear, and I got too close to my husband’s bike. I had to brake suddenly and ended up being thrown into the air, falling with my bike on my back. I’ve been riding for almost two years and had never fallen before. I was very upset, and because of the injuries, I couldn’t ride for the next week, so I didn’t wear the sunglasses.
The following week, I tried riding again and felt the same sensation, forcing me to stop. I was scared and frustrated with the sunglasses. I contacted the store to complain, and they were very kind and helpful with the return process.
In the end, I decided to wear them while walking outside during the day. By the end of the day, my vision adjusted, and I could see as clearly as with my other sunglasses. I didn’t return them. They are stylish, unique, and I’m very excited to finally enjoy them!
field of vision is solid. innovative magnetic buckle. lightweight visor. big bang for the buck. get this helmet!
This helmet is seriously worth every penny! Comfortable, ridiculously aero and the field of vision is absolutely superior! Highly recommend it
Rudy helmet saved my life. Crashed my TT bike and the helmet took full force of the impact. I did not even have a headache after my head hit the road.
Got this to replace my crashed Spectrum (which I loved). Elegant yet practical design, stylish, innovative strap and retention system, sweet ventilation (yet aero enough), and peerless quality. Fits perfectly!
I love the helmet. You get a quality Rudy Project helmet at an entry level price, with no special frizzles but just pure quality that you can feel on your head and looks nice. It became my daily training helmet for my 1hour morning ride.
I had initially ordered the wrong color, Photochromic, Purple, lenses, but Iordered the actual lenses I want, ImpactX Photochromic 2 Laser Red, for one of my Rydon frames, of which I have four (MTB, golf, shooting, and night walks).
At least two sets of mine are the clear lenses.
I, and our son, have been using Rudy Project Rydon, for decades now, initially for MTB riding (including night riding) and racing.
Rydon glasses ventilate well, are comfortable, and the vision’s good enough for the essential protection they offer, with quick changeable lenses (but once I set in the lenses I almost never change them).
Cheers,
Christian Jung Ho
I was really excited to replace my old Rydon lenses with new Photochromic lenses. Customer service was great and delivery was early, but the replacement lens didn't fit my frame, not even close. Rudy Website should provide more information on Rydon lens compatibility instead of lumping all the lens into Rydon category. Now I'm out over $40 for delivery, return postage, and credit card exchange rate fees. Not happy, buyer beware.
The Rudy Project Egos helmet is outstanding. The air flow and ventilation is superb for a hot summer ride. Excellent fit and comfort. The new magnetic FidLock® buckle is easy to open and close with one hand. I highly recommend this helmet!
I purchased the pacific blue matte frame with black photochromic Impact 2 lenses. The frame and lenses are fine. Where I'm not sold is the side coverage, and I am on the fence about keeping them. I'm only 5', with a 21.5" circumference head. My nose bridge does stick out pretty far, so most glasses have to sit far forward of my eye sockets. The angle of the wrap on the frame is good, but the lenses just don't seem to go far enough back on the sides. The photo shows how much of my eye socket is still exposed. I live in an area with a lot of wind, and having 40mph sustained winds with debris coming at me from the side on a run isn't fun. They are better than standard glasses for protection, but aren't enough to make me fall in love with them. Add the cost of the prescription inserts I'll need to buy and well... it's hard to call this a 5-star product, at least for someone with my head shape. Maybe there's another style that will fit better, but it's hard to tell just how far back the lenses go.
Hi Amy! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and providing such thorough feedback. We truly appreciate it. We understand your concern regarding the side coverage and we recommend adjusting the nose piece to allow the frame to sit closer to your face, which should provide more coverage on the sides. If you've already tried this and it's still not working, we suggest trying our new Astral Sphere shield, which offers deeper side coverage and allows for prescription inserts directly in the lenses. We're here to work with you and find the best solution. Thank you for considering Rydon and we hope to make your experience a 5-star one.
Just replaced my Sterling helmet with this one. Can’t be happier. I’ve had 3 Sterling helmets over the years and it was time to upgrade. Looks great and light weight. Feels faster. The only thing is that I wish it had the mesh net lining to keep the bugs, bees and pebbles out. The fit is good.
This one seems to be much better than the metal one, so we'll see what happens. I bought two metal ones, and both rusted. A HORRIBLE experience, $170 wasted. I previously wrote a review, and Mr. Bernardo called customer service. I've been sending all the information and photos for two months, and no one has responded. Why? I don't know, but I think I'll consider another brand in the future.
The Nytron is very comfortable and keeps my head cool for an aero road helmet. Have ridden it in six criteriums so far; it cuts through the air and I can't tell I'm wearing a helmet. It's stylish as well. Another great product by Rudy Project.
I love the feel of the helmet! Extra light and comfortable. There is a beautiful sleek look that is better in person. I am looking forward to wear this helmet on race day.
