Our quick change technology allows direct in frame prescription lenses to be tailored to your exact vision specifics and interchanged with ease.
We offer dozens of lens colors in various materials with high-tech coatings and mirrors to fight the harsh sun and provide crystal clear optics.
*Some lens shapes could vary from the non-prescription version based on your Rx parameters.

Totally unique to Rudy Project, our Rx Optical Docks feature an interchangeable full rim chassis that accomodates the most difficult prescriptions.
This cutting-edge technology helps reduce lens weight and thickness, while providing coverage and durability.
Optical Dock Models
Rudy Project Rx inserts provide a versatile prescription option that attach at the bridge behind the sunglass lenses and allow for unlimited customization options.
This prescription option allows contact lens wearers to switch between their contacts or the optical insert behind their standard sunglasses.
Tip: Customers who already own our sunglasses may purchase the Rx insert with prescription lenses alone or add a pair of sunglasses to your order during the process.

How Our Rx Program Works
1. Choose It
Choose your specific prescription sunglass & method from our sport sunglasses on this page and select the ORDER WITH RX to begin customizing them.
2. Build It
Based on the method you choose, you'll begin to customize your prescription sunglasses by chosing any frame color combined with any Rx lens material & colors we offer.
3. Upload It
One you've built your perfect prescription sunglasses, you may upload your RX before checkout or email it to us after you complete your order.

How do I order a Rudy Project RX Sunglass or Eyewear?
Start by chosing a product from one of our RX solutions above, then use the ORDER WITH RX button to begin customizing your prescription eyewear. You'll be able to choose your frame color as well as lens material and color and eventually upload your RX or send it via email after you place your order.
Once you complete your order and have uploaded (or emailed) your prescription, we'll build your custom RX eyewear and deliver your order within 7-10 business days.
NOTE: Please ensure your prescription contains a valid PD measurement and it's written by a licensed eyecare professional within the past 2 years before upload. -
Can I use my insurance or HSA/FSA dollars?
You may use our itemized receipt that will be included with your shipment to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement or save for your HSA/FSA out-of-pocket expense claim. Contact your insurance provider or healthcare plan administrator before purchasing to determine eligibility and details on how to process your claim directly. We do not process Rx insurance claims or accept HSA/FSA cards directly on our website, but our prescription eyewear qualifies for out of network reimbursement.

Can I order a progressive Rx?
If your prescription is written for progressive lenses, we'll contact you to confirm the type of prescription lenses you would like.

What's best, polycarbonate or trivex lenses?
Polycarbonate lenses are impact resistant, thin, light and great for high prescriptions. (recommend for prescriptions above -2.5.)
Trivex is the strongest and lightest lens material that provides the largest area of vision and highest visual clarity. (recommend for prescriptions below -2.5.) -
Can I order photochromic (transition) lenses?
Yes, Rudy Project offers the largest selection of photochromic prescription lenses in our RX program. We offer photochromic lenses that transition from clear to black, clear to red, clear to purple and clear to brown for both single vision and progressive prescriptions in both polycarbonate and trivex lens materials.

What is a PD?
PD stands for pupil distance and it's a critical measurement needed to build your custom rx eyewear. RX prescription orders cannot be completed without a PD measurement.

What is AR?
Anti-reflective is a transparent coating that eliminates reflection and glare that can be applied to both the front and back of Rx lenses or solely applied the the back of Rx lenses.
